This book was listed on Audible's Best Seller list. I thought I would give the synopsis a read.
Essentially it seems to be about a family living in a village near Jerusalem to start off with. It talks about a young girl named Miriam that has a loving relationship with her father, but once war happens, there are disastrous things that take place.
Miriam has a daughter named Nadia and we then follow her story. This then leads to Nadia having a daughter named Nijmeh. We then follow Nijmeh's story.
This is a generational novel. I often find these tedious, unless of course, it is the Flowers in the Attic series, but that's just plain soap opera tragedy.
The reviews of this book are good, I will say that. I also love books that are set in places I have never been. It gives me an opportunity to learn about the place. This book, from reading the synopsis, doesn't tilt in anyway to whether it is accurate about the people it represents or not, so I'm not sure that this could be an education in customs.
I thought that it might be nice to highlight for you all a book that seems to get good reviews and is on a best seller list.
